Dr. Camala Boyce is a Founding Director of Summit Discovery Institute. She brings more than 15 years of experience consulting and coaching at individual, team, and organizational levels applied to the research and offerings provided by Summit. Camala consults nationally and internationally and is recognized for her work in coaching leaders to develop greater emotional and interpersonal skills, and influence capability across the organization. She provides strategic planning facilitation and team building guidance for global, local, and distributed teams.

Prior to founding Summit, Camala held positions in small, mid-sized, and large organizations. Camala worked at Goodyear, holding positions both within the corporate office and a business line. While there, she worked with cross-functional teams and coached leaders on culture change, process improvements, and, creating greater alignment between values, decisions, and leadership actions. After moving to California, Camala held a senior consultant position with the international firm, Aon Consulting. At Aon, she designed and implemented talent management systems, and worked with senior leaders on the mergers, top management teams, and large scale change. Later, Camala founded her own consulting firm, Rubicon Leadership where she has expanded and continued work with organizations and leaders. Camala also serves as coach for the Center for Creative Leadership development programs.

Camala brings a “whole person/whole system” approach to Summit. This involves understanding mind (e.g., strategy, execution), body (e.g., behavior), and emotion (e.g., interpersonal style) and how they impact one another to create success. The organizational eco-system (e.g., company culture, skip level leaders, group dynamics) is also considered and how these factors inter-relate and impact outcomes.

Camala has held adjunct faculty positions at Alliant International University and Chapman University in Southern California. One of Camala’s publications is the Executive Development Online Interactive Series on Human Relations and Organizational Behavior. Camala received her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron, a top-ranked program within the field. Camala is certified in numerous personality assessments and developmental training programs.
